民數記二十章記載了一件令人讀來心頭戚戚,扼腕長嘆的故事:「摩西舉手用杖擊打磐石兩下,就有許多水流出來,會眾和他們的牲畜都喝了。神對摩西、亞倫說:因為你們不信我,不在以色列人眼前尊我為聖,所以你們必不得領這會眾進我所賜給他們的地!」

言語之失:我?我?我?
這一看來和所犯錯誤不成比例且突然來到的懲罰,常令人百思不解。一般以中文和合本聖經為範本的基督徒,常引詩篇一百零六篇說摩西在米利巴受了虧損是因為百姓惹神憤怒,摩西說了急躁的話(詩一零六33),並引用「你們這些被逆的人聽『我』說『我』為你們使水從這磐石中流出來麼?」的翻譯指出摩西所說的話太過於強調「自我」,沒有尊神為大,故受了虧損。不過我們若檢視更貼切於原文的翻譯 \ 神吩咐摩西說:「『你們』在他們眼前吩咐磐石,磐石就會出水,『你』將為他們從磐石出水,『你』將能給會眾和牲畜水喝」,於是摩西對百姓說:「聽哪!背逆的人,『我們』當為你們使水從這磐石流出麼?」("Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?"(NKJ)) \ 正好和一般加諸於摩西的責備相反。雖然之前神再三的指著摩西說這事將由「你」來成就,摩西不但沒有順神話的尊「我」,反而將亞倫也一併列入的說「我們」。所以,我們實在沒有理由,再繼續將這一因翻譯而引發的錯誤判斷,再加諸於摩西身上了!

這樣一來,詩篇所記「摩西說了急躁的話」到底所指的是什麼呢?,「急躁」地說了話,原指「不經思慮」的說話。若按利未記五章四節原文同一字語的翻譯來看,「急躁」可以當成「冒失的開口」,也就是在不應該說話的時候說了話。事實上摩西是說了不應該說的話。因為神只吩咐摩西向磐石說話,並沒有吩咐他向百姓說什麼,可是摩西卻沒有向磐石開口,倒是責備了會眾。

信心不足:不信神愛?
另外,對這一段故事若干天主教神學家則猜想摩西被神懲法的原因是因為摩西低估了神的大愛。雖然百姓再三發怨言,神還是應許再給水喝;可是摩西不信,不信神真會再一次的原諒這群不斷背逆的百姓。為了強烈表達他心中所以為的是真,摩西先責備以色列民是「背逆的人」,接著不但不「吩咐」磐石流水,反而語帶憤怒的對百姓說:「聽著!我們當為你們從這磐石出水麼?」,於是重重的擊打磐石兩下,用意在證明這次神真的是憤怒了:縱使重重擊打磐石兩下,磐石也不會再流出水來!結果出乎摩西意料之外,磐石竟然出水了!由這推論切入,得出了神不讓摩西和亞倫進迦南地是因為他們「不信」神,不信神對選民的「愛」,不信神會再給予水喝。可惜的是這一看法雖然可以解釋「不信我」,但並不能解釋:「不在以色列人眼前『尊我為聖』」的責備。

行為之過:重釘十架?
另有些傳道人對這一段的觀點除了採用第一推論外,還將摩西「杖擊磐石兩下」看成「重釘基督十字架」,來凸顯摩西被重罰的原因。問題是這樣的解釋與「因為你們『不信』我,不在以色列人眼前『尊我為聖』」的責備似乎連接不上。終究,若要說摩西重釘基督十字架,至少我們要先證明後一磐石與前一磐石是同一磐石,而且擊打等於釘十字架!並且假如這樣的看法是對的,傳道人立刻就要面對「流出水來」的解釋。因為如果第一次釘十字架「流出水來」是預表「恩典」,那這恩典在第二次犯了重大過犯的時候怎有可能再度出現?此外,倘若摩西果真犯了重釘基督的重罪,則理當倒斃曠野,怎有可能登比斯迦山頂遠眺迦南全地,得神親自安慰,蒙神親自導引,被神親自埋葬,並且在一千多年之後在變貌山上顯現與耶穌談論受苦的事,得人類空前絕後的大榮耀?

綜合以上三種推論,我們可以很容易的將這三樣看法發揮成「慎言慎思慎行」的道理來勉勵眾人,但卻很難將它們和「不信我,不尊我為聖」的責備相結合,無法對摩西和亞倫所受重大虧損原因有一清楚明白的解釋。因此,我們有理由相信在這事件上,至今必然仍藏有隱而未現的教訓尚未被領會。

探源
為了更深切瞭解原因,我們必須回到原點,從頭思想神在摩西擊打磐石後當場立刻的判決:「你們不信我:不在以色列人眼前尊我為聖(你們不信我,(所以)沒有在百姓眼前尊我為聖) "You did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel" (NKJ)」(民二十12),以及事後神重述不讓他們進迦南地的理由:「因為在米利巴水你們違背了我的命令」 (民二十24)、「沒有在湧水之地,會眾眼前尊我為聖」(民二十七14),「得罪了我」(申三十二51)。由此可知,摩西和亞倫不能進迦南地最根本理由乃是「不信神」、「不尊神為聖」、「違背了神的命令」、「得罪了神」,是與摩西「用杖擊打」而不是「用口吩咐」磐石所引發而來的「未尊神為聖的不信」有直接的關連。

besides wanting to share a very good essay to edify the readers, the other reason of my sharing this article is that i feel a need to clarify myself.

some people may think that i'm worshipping certain TJC preacher. But the truth is, I AM NOT. I know myself best in this aspect. the preacher is just a very good friend of mine; he's not my hero whatsoever. it just happens that i really like many of his sermons at the moment, that's all. and just like other people's sermons, i always listen/read with discernment (1 Cor 14:29) and always check with the Scriptures(Acts 17:11). In fact, i often ask this preacher questions and discuss things with him. I have to say that to date, this preacher's theory has been able to answer most of my question and benifit my faith the most, while not being unbiblical. (YUZE, all those verses you brought up in other threads i've already thought about before and have answers to. i shall answer them one by one. you still owed me some answers to my questions as well)

if one day tragedy really happens that this preacher leaves the TJC (but i don't think it will ever happen to him), don't worry about me; i will still be in TJC. i'd always remember why God wouldn't let Moses enter into his promised land.

I used to like this other preacher's sermon a lot before (i just look at the sermons, not the person). unfortunately some time ago that preacher left TJC (he even asked for excommunication himself), and i know some people's faith got affected as a result. i was quite sad when i heard the news but my faith was never affected and i'm still here today.

my eyes are always fixed on Jesus, not the people. i firmly believe that TJC is the only church of salvation in the last day and i will remain in TJC always, even to the point of death. Oh, nothing shall seperate me from the love of God!

if you consider favouring someone's sermons over others as wrong/hero worshipping, then i have nothing to say. i totally think it's ok to like some peokple's sermons over the others', but it's NOT ok to favour someone over the other (If you really think about it, all of us favour some people's sermons). But this doesn't mean i ONLY listen to this preacher's sermons, just that i like his sermons better b/c i've found them to be very biblical, inspiring and touching, and that's why i'm collecting his stuff b/c i want to share good things with others.

btw, just so you know that this preacher has actually also asked me to make a website for him so that he can put some of his stuff online to make it easier to share with people who ask for them.

i hope this clarify myself and that you've been edified by the essay.

感謝神, 這的確是篇好文章. 不過, 真教會許多長輩傳道者, 他們也有很多非常棒的講章, 不知是否有人可以收集整理發表上網?

有關"後記:忠心的僕人,在神家,理當得加倍的敬重。勞苦傳道教導人的,同靈更應當如此待他(提前五17)。敬而不拜,不將之看過高而偶像化(林後十二6)。"

回覆: 沒錯! 但忠心的僕人, 就不該謬講神的道. 尤其是"撒但自有"的理論, 有很多聖經直指那是錯誤的! 傳道者的言論更要接受大家顯微鏡式的檢驗. 我們更不可將撒但看得過高, 足以與神對抗. 但它是極力對抗我們-神的兒女, 尤其是很有恩賜的傳道者, 恐成為傳播少量異端的媒介, 不可不慎.

我們敬重神的僕人, 但對所有道理的是否純正, 卻要時時用聖經來慎思明辨, 愚者對明顯不合聖經之處, 絕對不留情手軟, 個人也常反省修正自己, 那是學習成長, 更歡迎大家憑愛心本著聖經指正. 願神施恩帶領我們.

----------我們只能說,神不讓摩西進迦南地,是因為他沒有在米利巴水處廢除百姓心中物化的偶像,讓神得以被尊為聖。神不得不連他這被百姓人化了的偶像也一併的留在曠野,不允許他領會眾進神所賜之地(民二十12),好讓百姓看明帶領他們的是神:沒有米利暗,沒有亞倫,沒有杖,沒有摩西,選民的隊伍一樣能夠如常前進!

reply: 文采一流,氣象萬千! 想像力一流,可寫小說,賺人熱淚! 可惜解經嚴謹度不是一流,硬是把物化的杖成為禍首,一個單純的摩西不尊主為大的教訓轉成物化的杖,太扯了!!!!忘了約櫃裏面正是放了發芽的杖!!!!!!

神沒有讓摩西進迦南地是因為賜福的選地不能建築在怒氣上.當初摩西生氣擊打磐石是對選民不耐煩.所以第一次擊打是出於怒氣.第二次摩西才有信心的擊打~神的賜福不能建立在怒氣上~所以神讓摩西歇了一切的工~~摩西的屍體找不到是不想讓選民拜偶像~因為選民愛摩西她們會去拜他~就像拜金牛犢一樣
